Description:

Extensive plans were drawn up for this project which would have seen the regeneration of one of the oldest parts of Jersey’s harbour to provide a Maritime Centre of excellence, including a new base for community groups such as the Jersey Sea Cadets Corps, the Jersey Rowing Club and the Geoff Holt Academy.

The scheme comprised the delivery of two main buildings which would have provided:

Commercial: 3 storey budget quality hostel and hotel (c.93 rooms):
Restaurant including conference facilities
Coastguard facility

Community: New home for the Sea Cadets
New home for RNLI (or community space)
Home for Jersey Maritime Trust and all other maritime clubs and associations
New storage and drying facilities for rowing and other boats

External: Decking, ancillary works and refurbishment of the barraques

Our appointment included the undertaking of the feasibility study and the responsibility to bring good governance and due diligence to the scheme. We coordinated a robust communication plan, involving identification of and consultation with the various stakeholders, the wider community and the Government of Jersey.
