Description:

In line with the charity’s business development strategy, this project was one of a series aimed at increasing revenue and raising the image of the park. The visitors centre provides a stunning welcome, while the new retail, cafe and exhibition facilities make it a major tourist destination in addition to the wildlife park itself.

The centre was extended to include the Cafe Firefly and a themed retail space including a plant nursery. With an emphasis on environmental sustainability and efficient energy use the client fulfilled their aim of reducing energy costs by 15%, through incorporating some innovative design solutions.

We worked closely with Durrell to bring structure and governance to the project and were responsible for developing the strategic programme, setting the meeting schedule and clearly defining the project teams roles and responsibilities. We managed the design process including client variations and provided regular updates to the client including monitoring and reporting on project costs.

A collaborative working approach with client and project team ensured successful delivery of this high quality, fast tracked project, on time and within budget all while the ticket office remained operational allowing the continuation of business at the park.
