Description:

The Government of Jersey agreed to lend £2.6 million by way of commercial loan to the Parish of St Martin to redevelop the former parish primary school.

The site comprises the former St Martin’s school and a residential property previously used as accommodation for the school caretaker, known as Maison Scolaithe. The former school building was returned to the control of the Parish following the completion of the replacement school in 2016.

Following an engagement process, the Parish decided that the former school should be retained and redeveloped to provide retail and commercial facilities to benefit the Parish and wider local community.

Working for the Government of Jersey, we provide an independent review of funding and project arrangements to assure public funds are invested in projects that are soundly based and deliver the benefits for which the loan arrangements have been made.

The project commenced on site in January 2019 and is scheduled to complete shell and core fit out in September 2019.
