The aim of this project was to refurbish the 1950’s Martello House to form a 5 bedroom boutique guesthouse. As part of the Cheffins at the Beaumont project, the part of the ground floor was fitted out with stores for the pub and an extension was built to the rear which serves both the restaurant and the guesthouse. The project required the remodelling of a residential property to create 5 bedrooms on the upper floors all fitted out with new ensuite bathrooms and a ground floor resident’s lounge. Extensive work was required to the upper floors to raise the height of the ceilings in order to accommodate the new bedrooms and bathrooms, each uniquely decorated with their own distinct style. New windows were installed along with a new slate roof and the exterior façade was brought up to date with a modern insulated render.
In our role as client project manager we developed the project programme, were responsible for managing the design process, monitoring the project costs and client variations, scheduling and chairing progress meetings and reporting back to the client.
